The Nexplanon implant and women who cannot use estrogen-based contraception
As the Nexplanon implant does not contain any estrogen, it is particularly suitable for women who do not want or perhaps are not able to use combined hormonal methods of contraception.4 The contraceptive implant is suitable for those who are over the age of 35 years and in whom the use of combined methods may be contraindicated (e.g. those who smoke).15, 16
